"Rats in the
Attic"
Hi Tom,
I can hardly believe it as I write this to you even now. I've been
crying for two days now and I have to tell you this. I know you
won't be surprised but honestly, the only thing that really, truly
causes me to believe this is that its happening TO ME AND IN MY
LIFE.
Recently, I kept hearing a commotion going on in my attic. It sounded
like the Army/Navy game was being played up there. After listening
for days and nights, I decided that somehow, someway rats had gotten
into my attic and was having a field day. I certainly could not
imagine where the money could possibly come from to cover such an
expense and I was beside myself in despair.
I followed your instructions and the very FIRST THING I wrote on
my Master List was for a new roof on my house.
It turned out that I made a connection with a man who had just done
my neighbor's roof after I wrote my Master's List and the first
thing he said to me was, "Well, your insurance company should
cover the storm damage to your roof!" And I said, "What
storm damage?" Then he informed me that my neighbors had storm
damage to their roof and I must also have it on mine since my house
is only a few yards away from their's.
Well Tom, it turns out that he is going to meet with the insurance
claims adjuster probably next week and he's certain they will cover
ALL the damage.
By the way, it turned out that a Mama squirrel made her way into
the attic and had babies. After a bit of coaxing, she took her babies
and left the attic and returned to life in the trees.
So, I think this qualifies as my homework for Exercise Six since
what seemed to be a disaster was, in fact, a blessing maybe. (Won't
actually know for sure until next week.) This is the most incredible
thing I've ever experienced. I'm still pinching myself!!!!!
