Hi - I have read your book and did as you said; to wait a while before moving on. Therefore it has been in my system for some months now.

I am a Christian and do believe in tithing. My problem is this: We own several businesses which have very large expenses. One is rental houses - the income is fairly fixed and the mortgage payments are fixed. So the question is: Do I still tithe on the gross income amount? Even if that leaves me almost to the break even point? I know God has an endless supply, so is there a responsibility of stewardship here? Is there a place for blind faith? If I give it all, I still can't out give God? I am just having a mental block (that is probably my problem - the mental part) and would like to have your views on the subject.

Thank you for your reply.

Dawn,

We took out that waiting part in the new edition ebook. We meant for the wait to be a few days at most. Please read on in the book.

The wonderful thing about tithing is you get to decide. It's the one law we can test. Start by tithing on net. See how it goes. If you decide to give more, great. The one part of the equation with real estate you left out is equity. That goes up as your tenant pays your mortgage for you. So even if you break even you come out ahead especially when you figure in depreciation and interest deductions on your income tax. So tithing on Gross is fine too. Don't make a big deal out it. Decide on a number and do that. Your intention is more important than your number.

But then you're really not having a problem with tithing as you yourself point out. Like most of us, you're having a problem with trust. Ask for a lot of little things because they help build trust. Once you see this system working for you, it won't matter how much you give. Like you say you could give it all and still come out ahead.

Don't beat yourself up. Remember God loves you and knows your situation better than you do.

Good Luck and Great Adventures.
